This is what the Main House looked like!
We had a little winter storm out here in January of 2005.
This branch, laying to the left of the cistern below, was hanging from the power lines to the house all night. Jane was able to cut it loose the next morning.
The tree limbs hanging over the house came crashing down on the house - sliding right off the roof, sounding like gunshots!

Going out of the drive towards the road. (looking south)
The old crabapple tree in front of the house.
Looking out the front window towards the mailbox.
The dangerous branch - laid to rest.
There was still a little piece
of the branch hanging from
the wires.
There was this limb to worry about, too! The tree is west of the house and the limb was hanging over the southwest corner of the house. As you can see the sun was shining, thankfully.
Same tree as above - different angle.
The old oak trees in front of the Bunkhouse had a good trimming after the tornado in July 2004. It was a good thing. Only 2-3 small branches came down during this storm.
The BIG limb hanging over the Bunkhouse from the oak tree was causing a little concern. The shining sun was melting the ice, allowing the limb to lift off the building today. (right)
Here's a couple of pictures of the icy gate at the pen south of the barn.

stood tall - but cold!
