We are spiritual beings on a human journey,
not human beings on a spiritual journey.
We are all spiritual beings, whether we believe in God, a Higher Power, or Creator. Whether we attend church or experience something beyond ourselves in nature. This spirituality goes beyond the bounds of organized religion. It is at the depth of our being.
This is why "Scrapbooking Your Faith" is more than creating pages based on religious holidays (Christmas, Easter) and rituals (weddings, christenings, confirmations, first communions). There are spiritual themes that transcend religion, themes like thankfulness, gratitude, wonder, awe, doubt, and forgiveness.
Expressing these and other themes in your scrapbook is a way of recognizing what's important to you and preserving your faith for future generations.
Although Billie is not a scrapbooker herself, she is an ordained clergy woman, a spiritual companion/director, and a woman aware of her spiritual nature. She can guide you through a process to help you focus on issues of faith and spirituality for scrapbooking.
As time allows, we will consider people important to our faith, places where we feel close to the divine, the blessings in our lives, our beliefs and values, and particular moments of truth.
Please bring the pictures and supplies you believe you will need. Be aware that this retreat may be more for beginning the process of thinking about how to scrapbook your faith than actually completing a page.
Ways to prepare for this rereat:
Think about places that have been important in your faith journey.
Consider the people important in your spiritual walk.

Creative work is play. It is free speculation using the materials of one's chosen form.
- Stephen Nachmanovitch
Make a list of your blessings.
Ponder the moments you've been deeply aware of the divine.
No matter the origin of your beliefs, scrapbooking your spiritual journey can be a rewarding adventure.
