"To mark a passage is to acknowledge that a change has occurred, that you are not the same person you were before. There has been a break, a shift, a lurch, or a flourish."

-- Jennifer Louden in the Woman's Retreat Book
A passage could be celebrating a "big" birthday (40 or 50 or 60). It could be getting a new job or getting fired from the old one. A passage might be getting married, having a baby, beginning menopause, becoming a grandmother. Did you recently graduate, finish your dissertation, complete a major life goal? Passages can disturb, damage, overwhelm, enliven and mystify. Taking time to reflect can bring wisdom for the next step, healing from the past, and expand your awareness of what you are capable of doing.
Bring a journal and a pen.
If you have a particular life passage in mind as you come for this retreat, bring with you one symbol of the passage - a copy of your divorce papers or marriage certificate, a picture of a deceased loved one, a photo of that new house or car, a bottle of hair coloring. If you are unable to find or think of a symbol, we will do some symbol searching on the retreat.
