The Natural Grass Walking Labyrinth
our newest addition to the center!

A labyrinth seemed a natural thing to put at this retreat center. Finally it's happened!  And certainly not the way anyone expected.  It was thought a crew of laborers was needed to move rock or gravel or some other medium into the yard to create the labyrinth.  It would be labor intensive and pricey.  Not so!  Mindy, a United Methodist pastor and friend of the Director, figured out how to mow one into the grass already planted in the yard.  No cost.  No intensive labor.  All it took was a plunger, string and landscape chalk found at the local hardware store used to mark off the circles.  The path was mowed with a push mower set on its lowest setting and the lines in between the path were mowed with the riding mower set on its highest level.  Voila! A 32' diameter labyrinth.  There have been many positive comments already from women who have walked it.

Walk the labyrinth
Winter Labyrinth
Come walk the outdoor labyrinth.  Spend the day discovering new ways to walk the labyrinth, new ways to relate to the  sacred circle, new ways to learn about yourself.  Walking the labyrinth is a form of prayer.  It is a journey inward and then back out.
There is no right or wrong way to walk the labyrinth.
